March 05, 2026
Shopify is building the infrastructure for AI agent commerce. Their Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) creates a standardized way for AI agents to interact with Shopify stores.
What is Shopify UCP?
UCP provides unified data access, secure authentication with proper scoping, and real-time synchronization for inventory, orders, and customer data.
